Welcome to the State of Clayton

SCROLL DOWN

Welcome to the State of Clayton

Watch out for raptors, wormholes, and random acts of time travel.

You never know what you'll find in the State of Clayton, so keep on your toes. Oh, and if you run into an old man with a long white beard in a dark blue robe, please contact the management and do NOT approach him. He's an evil wizard who's escaped from his cave, and we're all a bit nervous about it.

And, look, if you're too uneasy to move forward, just head straight over to the blog or the books. You'll be safe(r) there.

A very short biography

A very short biography

"Smith can definitely write. His dialogue is snappy, his powers of description are terrific, and he has plenty of imagination." - Windy City Reviews

Clayton Smith is a Midwestern writer who once erroneously referred to himself as a national treasure. He writes novels, short stories, and plays, mostly. His work has been featured on the popular Internet site Amazon, and he has had plays produced rather mercilessly in St. Louis and New York City. His novels include Apocalypticon, Anomaly Flats, and Mabel Gray and the Wizard Who Swallowed the Sun. He lives outside of Chicago with his impressively tolerant wife and a schnauzer who just thinks he knows soooooo much.

In beautiful hawaii

The palm trees are swaying...the waves are crashing...and a deranged demi-god is coming after you with an army of pigs.

"Maui was supposed to be a romantic trip for two. But when Grayson Park’s bride leaves him at the altar, a solo trip to paradise seems like just the thing to take him far from his troubles. Then he meets the beautiful and enigmatic Hi’iaka, and his troubles just begin—because when she’s abducted by the sinister Kamapua’a, a savage creature bent on draining her life by the light of the full moon, she calls on Grayson to rescue her. With his loyal, new-found Hawaiian friend Polunu as his steadfast guide, Grayson sets out on an incredible adventure that pits him against the very gods of Hawaiian mythology and leads him to the heart of Pele’s volcano, into the ocean to find the mythical Hook of Maui, and through the strange and brutal upcountry fleeing from demonic mo’o sent to destroy him. But there are only two nights left before the moon becomes full, and Grayson is running out of time to save Hi’iaka...and himself."

Get ready to strap yourself in for the Hawaiian adventure of a lifetime!

Na Akua will be available on September 13th!
